“Following my graduation from high school, I moved to Tokyo and gave this editor a call. The editor then asked me what I was planning to do after I graduated high school and he said if you are thinking of coming to Tokyo, then give me a call. During this time, one of my friends introduced me to an editor from Futabasha, which is a famous manga publisher in Japan, and I brought my own manga related works to shown him. So I felt that I would need to move to Tokyo at some point. “When I entered high school, I became interested in movies and I had ambitions on becoming a professional illustrator or maybe even a movie director. From that point on I tried to draw manga more seriously.” So I read this book and I came to understand how manga could be drawn properly. When I started to draw manga seriously, it was due to a book by Shotaro Ishinomori called How to Draw Manga. However, this is something that every elementary school kid did, so it's not that special. “At elementary school I used to enjoy copying things like Tetsuwan Atom or Tetsujin 28-go, because I enjoyed drawing. So I really enjoyed those manga as a kid. This tended to be Shounen and it included things like Tetsuwan Atom and Tetsujin 28-go. “As I was growing up, the rule in my house was that I was able to buy one manga book per month.
